Our puppies receive daily interaction with adults only for the first 2 weeks of life. They are touched, held, and talked to on a daily basis.
They are introduced to children around 3 weeks of age. We use this interaction to help our babies establish good socialization skills.
We introduce our babies to a puppy kibble mush around 4 to 4 1/2 weeks old. We start the weaning process around 5 weeks old, or when momma begins to show signs that she has been bitten one too many times by razor sharp teeth!
Around 5 to 5 1/2 weeks of age, we begin taking them outside on adventure trips in the back yard. This is always an interesting time to watch them respond to new textures, smells, and sounds.
Between 6 and 7 weeks of age we let them have extended time outside in the play yard, weather permitting. They enjoy this adventure as well.
By 8 weeks of age they have been acclimated to both inside and outside textures, smells, and sounds. We believe this helps our babies be well adjusted prior to the trip to their new forever home.
